Thomas McNally is an illustrator, writer, and philosopher. Originally from County Laois in the Irish Midlands, he currently lives in Dublin. He is the illustrator of two books based on the fables in James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake, and both are published by the Lilliput Press. He is also the author of a book on the philosophy of Ludwig Wittgenstein, published by Cambridge University Press, as well as numerous articles that have appeared in international peer-reviewed journals.

Thomas’ formal training is in philosophy. He holds degrees from the Milltown Institute of Theology and Philosophy (B.A.), University College Dublin (M.Litt.), Cambridge University (M.Phil.), and Trinity College Dublin (Ph.D.). His areas of specialisation are the philosophy of language and, more recently, the philosophy of mind (especially theories of emotion).
